We… well, hubby and I… are sports people.
Growing up, I played softball, basketball and volleyball. Even as an adult, I played softball up until I was pregnant with Kadenn (getting hit by the first base MAN throwing the ball to the catcher and hitting me – while pregnant – was my last game) and played sand volleyball with friends on a regular basis.
With three kids, we don’t always get to play anymore (hubby has been playing softball again recently) but we love to watch and attend sporting events.
In fact, just the other night, we were able to attend an Arizona Diamondbacks game courtesy of U.S. Family Guide and were informed of some amazing ways to save money as a family of 5 while attending the games!
Save Money
D-Backs Value Pack
You can purchase a game ticket, hotdog or Subway sandwich, and a regular Pepsi for $25. That’s a great deal! Dinner and a baseball game! You can purchase tickets at dbacks.com/value
Low Ticket Cost
Regular game tickets can be purchased for as low as $12. You can find daily ticket prices at dbacks.com/pricing
Value Items
You can purchase food and drinks for as little as $2 each! When you see the “value items” logo, you can find hotdogs, corndogs, popcorn, Pepsi and milk for as low as $2 each.
You can even find merchandise in the team shop with the “value items” logo for $10 or less.
Bring your own meal!
Hubby and I were actually shocked and elated to hear this. When you have bottomless pits for kids like we do – this is a life saver on our pocket books!
You can bring personal bags and soft coolers that are smaller than 11x11x15″ into the ballpark. (They will need to go through security and screening.)
Your food must be in clear bags within the bag or cooler and your water bottles must be closed, but this is a huge money saver for us. I swear my kids can eat for days!
Ballpark App
Download the MLB Ballpark app (free) for your game tickets, view the schedule, see promotions and take advantage of check-in offers and seat upgrades!

For the Family
Family Restrooms
There is nothing worse than attending any place in public with kids and have to do potty breaks. The Diamondbacks now have family restrooms on the main concourse, the suite level, and the upper concourse.
Bring the Dog!
The Diamondbacks now have a place where you can watch the game with your dog and have a doggy indoor and outdoor play area! I would love to watch the game with Jessie with us!!
Giveaway Days
On most Saturdays, the Diamondbacks have giveaways for the first 10K or 20K fans. These giveaways include bobbleheads, t-shirts, hats, coolers, and more! (We have gotten a few bobbleheads in our day!)
On Sunday, April 23rd and June 1, there will be kid only giveaways which include a water bottle and a bat and ball set.
You can find more info about the giveaways at dbacks.com/giveaways
Virtual Reality
Check out the new Virtual Reality area where you can hang with the players on a virtual field!
Postgame Fireworks
The entire family can hang out after the game and watch fireworks on April 7th, May 12th, July 1 (an extended firework show!), July 21st, and August 25th.
For the Kids
D-Backs Kids Club
The Kids Club is a free program for kids 15 years of age and younger. The kids earn free gifts for very game they attend.
I can’t remember all of the gifts, but game 1 was the picture ID card; game 2 is a t-shirt. I remember 6 games is a foam finger. Other gifts were a ‘sleeve’, a backpack, a spot at the baseball academy, and more fun baseball related gear!
You can sign your kids up and get your ID up in section 332.
In addition to the fun free gear, the kids can get into baseball games every Sunday for free!
Kids can show their Kids Club member card to the box office and receive their free ticket on Sundays. Every. Sunday.
The Sandlot
The Sandlot is in the upper concourse (right by the Kids Club area) that includes a toddler play area, a kid playground with slides, a whiffle ball field, and a batting cage. Plus, Baxter comes up and signs autographs during the 4th inning!!
