2nd Annual REV’D UP for Autism Car & Bike Show

In recognition of Autism month, we will be hosting our 2nd Annual car/bike show “REV’D UP for Autism”.
A family friendly event, the car/bike show is open to all cars and trucks, and over 25 trophies will be awarded in numerous specific class categories in addition to Kid’s Choice and Best in Show. Included in the day’s festivities will be games for adults and children of all ages, food, door prizes, and raffles. All proceeds will be donated to the non-profit 501(c)(3) Pawsitive Friendships to provide animal assisted therapy to children with Autism.

“At The Lantern Fest, thousands of revelers join together armed with lanterns for one unforgettable spectacle. Before sundown friends and families can enjoy food, live music, a stage show, familiar princesses, face painters, s’mores, balloon artists and more. Then, when the time is just right, we will light the sky with our highest hopes and fondest dreams.”
Parking is $10 at the event.
Lanterns will fly when the sun goes down. Be sure to arrive early enough to park, check-in and find a place to enjoy the event.

There will be different hunts to meet every child’s special need:
Quiet Egg Hunt
A Quiet Egg Hunt for children on the Autism Spectrum or children with Sensory Processing issues who need a quieter environment.
Beeping Egg Hunt
A Beeping Egg Hunt For children who are blind or visually impaired. Slighlty larger beeping eggs are placed in the grass and once found beeping eggs are traded for filled plastic eggs.
Magnetic Egg Hunt
A Magnetic Egg Hunt for children with wheelchairs or mobility restrictions. Magnetic eggs are placed on a hard surface area and poles with magnets on them allow children to collect magnetic eggs. Magnetic eggs are then traded in for filled plastic eggs.
General Egg Hunt
A General Egg Hunt for children with other disabilities and siblings of children involved in the other hunts.
We want you to feel loved, appreciated and special!
We want to display Jesus’ love in a way you can feel and touch. All are welcome!

Earth Day 2017

Join us for Earth Day at the Phoenix Zoo: an entire day of games and activities that nurture nature!
There will be educational earth station destinations throughout the zoo where the kids can earn a stamp in their zoo passport and receive a prize at the exit!
The educational destinations include Water Conservation, Energy Conservation, Reduce, Reuse, Recycle, and Non –Toxic Cleaning. Kids can make their own personal planter with Garden Pool and participate in a Drumming Circle!
All event activities are included with regular Zoo admission.

Abita Brewing is set to return on Saturday, April 22, from noon – 9 p.m. in downtown Chandler. Showcasing the heart and soul of New Orleans paired with Arizona fusion and flavor for a full day packed with cultural festivities, food and entertainment.
The Southwest Cajun Fest celebrates Cajun culture, cuisine and handcrafted beer, and will feature live music with jazz, blues and contemporary swing revival bands. Festival patrons will feel transported to the southeastern region of Louisiana during the Cajun Fest.
The festival will feature live entertainment and a variety of food vendors serving up regional dishes. Festivities also includes themed zones such as Bourbon Street, French Quarter, Garden District and more. Patrons of all ages are encouraged to dress in festive parade style attire and join in on the fun and celebration.
General admission is $8 during online presale $10 at the gate. Kids 12 and under will be admitted for free. VIP admission is $125, which includes catered food, six adult beverages, access to private seating in the VIP area, private restrooms and front stage access. VIP tickets are only available in advance, online at www.southwestcajunfest.com

Free Comic Book Day 2017

Free Comic Book Day 2017, May 7th from 10:00am-5:00pm. *Gotham City Comics and other participating businesses will stay open even later.
Celebrate and discover the amazing world of comic books on Free Comic Book Day! Taking place annually on the first Saturday in May, Free Comic Book Day is a single day when participating shops around the world give away comic books absolutely free to anyone who comes into their shops!
Zoom over to Free Comic Book Day in Downtown Mesa on Main Street with 19 participating businesses and 10,000 FREE comic books! With 50th titles to choose there’s a story for everyone to enjoy!
Start at Gotham City Comics & Coffee, 46 W. Main Street to receive your map of all the businesses participating. Enjoy live music, meet and greet with local and national comic artists, a Cosplay Costume Contest, and our Super Scavenger Hunt! Judging for the costume contest begins at 2:00pm outside in front of Gotham. Test your comic book skills in the scavenger hunt, each participating business will have a picture of a comic book character, name all 17 superheroes or villains. Prizes for the Cosplay Contest and scavenger hunt include original artwork and comic books!

Comic Book Day at the idea Museum
Saturday, May 6 at 9 AM – 4 PM
The i.d.e.a. Museum is a participating stop for a free comic book during Free Comic Book Day on Main. Comic books are passed starting around 10 a.m.- while supplies last. The museum opens at 9 a.m.
Pick up a map of all participating Downtown Mesa businesses at Gotham City Comics and Coffee at 10 a.m. Free comics are offered while supplies last.
After picking up your comic books, play at the museum. We’re planning some extra special activities included with admission. A schedule of activities tied to the Caped Crusaders & Everyday Heroes exhibition will be posted closer to the event date.
