Upcoming 2015 Movies to Look Forward To

February 9, 2015 By Leila 3 Comments

I don’t know about you and your family, but I know my family loves movies!

There is nothing more fun than a family fun night watching movies!

This year, there are some great movies coming out that I know we are excited to watch; so here is a list of upcoming 2015 movies to look forward to!

2015_Preview_Kit_R_Cover

January 23rd – Strange Magic

Strange Magic

Bog King leader of the Dark Forest, hates the notion of love and has ordered the destruction of all primroses, which are an essential ingredient of love potions. However, when he meets Marianne, a feisty fairy princess whose heart was broken by a philandering fiance, he begins to change his mind. Meanwhile, an elf named Sunny makes his way to the Dark Forest to collect enough primrose petals for a potion of his own.

Have you seen Strange Magic? What were your thoughts? Did you like it?

We haven’t seen it yet so be sure to leave us a comment to let us know what you thought!

February 20th – McFarland USA

McFarland USA

Based on the 1987 true story, “McFarland, USA” follows novice runners from McFarland, an economically
challenged town in California, as they give their all to build a cross-country team under the direction of Coach Jim
White (Kevin Costner), a newcomer to their predominantly Latino high school, with whom they ultimately bond to
build not only a championship cross-country team but an enduring legacy as well.

Follow along with #McFarlandUSA on Twitter and Instagram to see some great behind the scenes and interviews with the cast!

March 13th – Cinderella

Cinderella

A live-action feature inspired by the classic fairy tale, “Cinderella” brings to life the timeless images from Disney’s 1950 animated masterpiece as fully-realized characters in a visually-dazzling spectacle for a
whole new generation.

I am a fan of all the Cinderella stories from the animated version to the live-action that featured Brandy and Whitney Houston.

I am also a fan of the spin offs – Ever After, A Cinderella Story, and Another Cinderella Story.

I look forward to seeing this new live-action Cinderella too!

April 17th – Monkey Kingdom

A DisneyNature film

Monkey Kingdom

Set in the storied jungles of South Asia, “Monkey Kingdom” showcases the adventures of new mom Maya, a clever and resourceful blonde-bobbed monkey who’s determined to give her son a leg up in the world.

For every ticket sold opening week (April 17-23, 2015), Disneynature will make a donation to Conservation International to help protect monkeys and other endangered species in their natural habitats.

I love love love all primates and cannot wait to watch Monkey Kingdom!

May 1st – Avengers: Age of Ultron

Avengers Age of Ultron

When Tony Stark jumpstarts a dormant peacekeeping program, things go awry and Earth’s Mightiest Heroes, including Iron Man, Captain America, Thor, The Incredible Hulk, Black Widow and Hawkeye, are put to the ultimate test as they battle to save the planet from destruction at the hands of the villainous Ultron.

Confession: I have always been a fan of The Hulk so I have seen both Hulk movies, and somehow, I have seen both Captain America movies. However, I had not seen Iron Man, Avengers, or Thor prior to last week.

I have now official watched Iron Man 1, 2, and 3; Thor; and the Avengers, and I am very much looking forward to Avengers: Age of Ultron.

May 22nd – Tomorrowland

(If you have seen my Facebook page recently, you will know I’m excited to see this! George Clooney. Need I say more!?)

Tomorrowland

In Disney’s riveting mystery adventure “Tomorrowland,” a jaded scientist and an optimistic teen embark on a danger-filled mission to unearth the secrets of an enigmatic place somewhere in time and space.

June 19th – Inside Out

Inside Out

Growing up can be a bumpy road, and it’s no exception for Riley, who is uprooted from her Midwest life when her father starts a new job in San Francisco. Like all of us, Riley is guided by her emotions – Joy, Fear, Anger, Disgust and Sadness. The emotions live in Headquarters, the control center inside Riley’s mind, where they help advise her through everyday life. As Riley and her emotions struggle to adjust to a new life in San Francisco, turmoil ensues in Headquarters. Although Joy, Riley’s main and most important emotion, tries to keep things positive, the emotions conflict on how best to navigate a new city, house and school.

I think this will be a great movie for kids – especially B who has trouble controlling his emotions with his anxiety and ADHD so this is definitely on our must see list!

July 17th – Ant–Man

Ant-Man

The next evolution of the Marvel Cinematic Universe brings a founding member of The Avengers to the big screen for the first time with Marvel Studios’ “Ant-Man” when master thief Scott Lang must embrace his inner-hero and help his mentor, Dr. Hank Pym, protect the secret behind his spectacular Ant-Man suit from a new generation of towering threats.

In case you couldn’t tell, I’m not really ‘hip’ on this Marvel stuff so I had to ask hubby about Ant-Man.

While I may not be ‘hip’ on Marvel, I am incredibly ‘hip’ on Paul Rudd (who plays Ant-Man) and am really excited to see this with hubby!

October 9th – The Jungle Book

The Jungle Book

I currently have no other information regarding this film so be sure to keep an eye out in our newsletter (sign up is at the bottom of our blog) or on our Facebook page for updates.

November 25th – The Good Dinosaur

The Good Dinosaur

“The Good Dinosaur” asks the generations-old question: What if the asteroid that forever changed life on Earth missed the planet completely and giant dinosaurs never became extinct? In theaters November 25, 2015, the film is a humorous and exciting original story about Arlo, a lively Apatosaurus with a big heart. After a traumatic event unsettles Arlo’s family, he sets out on a remarkable journey, gaining an unlikely companion along the way – a human boy. “The Good Dinosaur” is an extraordinary journey of self-discovery full of thrilling adventure, hilarious characters and poignant heart.

December 18th – Star Wars: The Force Awakens

Star Wars The Force Awakens

Be sure to ‘like’ our fan page – we will be sharing the trailers to all of the above movies throughout the year!

My family and I are always so excited to know what will be the newest movies playing for the upcoming year! I know this list is from 2015, but it was fun for us to look over and remember all of the movies we’ve see this year. Cinderella was probably one of our favorites. We loved the message that it shared. Movies are the best, the really bring our family together!
