What Does Blended Conference Have to do With Experiencing Parenthood?

May 24, 2015 By Leila 6 Comments

Disclosure

Experiencing Parenthood is exactly that – experiencing parenthood from pregnancy to empty nest.

So, what, you may be asking yourself, does Blended Conference have to do with experiencing parenthood?

Well, let me share.

There are careers that require continuing education. Counselors, doctors, etc. Currently, my ‘career’ is my blog and my continuing education is blogging conferences – specifically Blended Conference because it’s local to me in Arizona.

I have been blogging for almost 4 years now and while Experiencing Parenthood is new, I consider myself an experienced blogger.

It was last year at Blended Conference that I really realized that blogging is my career.

Blogging and My Family

Over the past 9 years, I have had 3 children and have worked 3 different jobs. Starting in 2008, my hours slowly were reduced from full time to my current work schedule of less than 10 hours per week. Partially due to economical circumstances with businesses and partially due to not wanting to put A in daycare.

My career of blogging helps bring in an extra income that provides me the ability to keep A out of daycare and provides my family with experiences, friends, and opportunities that we may have never had before.

While the actually blogging aspect typically falls on me; both of my blogs are a combination of my family.

My kids participate. They give me their opinions. They are in the pictures. Hubby creates recipes and meals. He takes photographs for me. It’s a family business.

It’s so much a family business that we are working on getting K and B their own blogs and YouTube channels because last year at Blended Conference, we were informed how kid reviewers are the new up and coming ‘it’ thing.

Blogging has brought us closer together as a family and allows us to do things together as a family.

Why Blended Conference?

I began attending Blended Conference the second year it was available – this will be my 3rd year attending.

One of the reasons I really enjoy attending Blended Conference is because it’s in Arizona, which is local to me. No travel. BUT, it’s also at a location that is close enough for California and Nevada to drive in to attend (or any other state!)

Not only have I met some fabulous people (all of my fun Arizona bloggers, but also a great husband and wife blogging team from Nevada, and some fab bloggers from California!) that I would like to consider my friends, but I have learned so much; not only from the conference, but from finding these new friends and blogs to learn from!

I have met much more experienced bloggers who share their knowledge with us and have made my blog so much better.

Just like a 9-5 career, I am learning something new all the time about my career and attending Blended Conference has helped me in that learning.

More About Blended Conference 2015

Blended Conference

Blended Conference is being held Friday, September 18th and Saturday, September 19th at Arizona Grand Resort in Phoenix, Arizona.

Tickets are already on sale and will remain on sale until September 7th.

In addition, there is a room discount if you are wanting to stay at Arizona Grand Resort. Rooms in our block are $99 and includes 4 waterpark tickets! (Again, family fun!)

There is a great line up of speakers that I am really looking forward too! I am really looking forward to learning from Sara Hawkins and have met Tiffany Romero. The others are new to me, but that makes it all the more exciting to meet them and learn more about them, their blog, and what they can share with me!

Whether you are a new blogger or an experienced blogger, Blended Conference is the place to be this fall!

I bake cookies with my children and attend all preschool events. We go to parks and have friends over to play.
Several times each week I pile three little girls into my car for the giggling ride to preschool
